Wow, over a week?

I can't believe it's been over a week since I blogged! Oops!

I haven't thought much about it probably because we've been so busy! Chicken went for his CT scan yesterday for his plagiocephaly -doesn't that word make me sound smart?- for all you uneducated people out there who don't know, that's flat head syndrome. :oD Seriously, Chicken's head is still borderline and my pediatrician still wants to send him to Vanderbuilt. Essentially, the CT scan is just to make sure his bones aren't fusing together too soon causing the flat head. If it is, he'll have to have a minor surgery to correct it and then wear a helmet. If it's not, he just needs the helmet...more than likely. Since he's still fairly young, they might wait to see what happens, but we'll just have to see. The good part? Insurance might not pay because the corrective helmet is considered "cosmetic." The idiots. Why don't we beat the insurance peoples head in and let THEM live with a flat head and see how it feels. Hats won't fit him right, if he's like half of our family he'll be bald by 20 so he can't hide it that way, and not to mention all the cruel people in this world who like to point fingers and laugh. Yes, I think I'll take the helmet, even if it means I'm out $3,000 because I have to pay out of pocket.

I've got my fall and halloween decorations out. I'm ready to decorate and get in the spirit. Getting Chickens Chicken Little costume in the mail yesterday did it for me. He looked so cute. Here he is:

I mean, seriously, is that not the funniest thing you've ever seen? Hubby and I are still debating dropping the hat and getting him some green glasses and spiking his hair red for Halloween. It's just priceless. He apparently liked it too, he's always quick to smile, but boy he was grinning ear to ear while Punky and I laughed at him. Hmmm, maybe that's why.

Anyway, I'm off to decorate for halloween!

How cute is he?!! I can't wait to see him. (I'm gonna be at JP next Wed, by the way.)

I used to babysit for a little baby boy who had to wear a helmet. He was so cute, and it really helped him.

you dont need a $3000 helmet. my child a was treated with a $600 ASEMT helmet and he is perfectly normal. Look ASEMT.com up on the net
